Founder & Manager of Roots Underground Records. DJ and producer with the monikers Cosmic Twirl and We Are Mam.
Marco Celeri is a young DJ and music producer based in Tuscany, founder and manager of Roots Underground Records. His own imprint, born in 2012 as a digital project from a big affection for pure house music, is undertaking an evolution by the launch of a vinyl catalogue as well as going towards new sound inspirations, through the research of very fresh talents and the involvement of internationally-renowned artists.
At turntables, he expresses an eclectic style deeply inspired by all the possible black streams that have been influencing the modern electronic music.
The first house cuts refer to the alias We Are Mam with a few digital releases and the first vinyl record on Aurour Records, including two original tracks and additional remixes by Rio Padice and Summer & Dot.
In 2014 his tune "Roots Underground" was selected by no less than Fred P. for the double vinyl compilation "Selected: Compiled by Fred P.", released on Soul People Music.
A short later the EP "Soul Vibrations" came out on Legendary Sound Research, label run by Legendary 1979 Orchestra; while we can find the last trace of WAM project in "Music Is The Message", a tune included in the V/A "Volume 5" of NYC-based Cahoots Records.
Marco has recently turned to another way in music production: with the moniker Cosmic Twirl, he goes along the need of dirtying his sound, bringing out hip-hop seepages, broken rhythms, and jazz influences from his style.
Debut track for this new path is "First Time Around", produced in collaboration with the young talent Reekee and included in "United Republic Of Music", the first compilation delivered by Roots Underground. The first remix as Cosmic Twirl is included in the EP "Patchwork Jazz" by the Italian producer SofaTalk, a reinterpretation of the track "Interlude", published by the Dutch label INI Movement in 2016.

Simona Faraone as Pharaoh                                                          Soundcloud

Head honcho of “New Interplanetary Melodies - Phonographic Editions From Tomorrow's World”. Roots Underground Records' partner in crime. DJ & vinyl lover.

Hailing from Rome and Florence based, Simona Faraone is historically one of the first women to have undertaken the disc-jockey career in Italy and Europe. Refined digger of cutting-edge sounds, she started a long and respected militancy in the Italian underground scene in 1987, with a background deeply rooted in the Afro-American music and an eclectic, original style. She belongs to that generation of Roman DJs who, in the mid-80s after having grown up listening to funk and disco, got influenced by the US hip-hop giving birth to a significant correspondence of that movement in the city of Rome: it was the Italian Zulu Nation era of DMC and scratch and cutting contests. A short time later, for many of those DJs including Simona, the typical electro and funk sounds of the old-school hip-hop has flowed into the Detroit techno, the Chicago house and the acid house coming from London. As an activist of the Italian club culture, she's seen the birth and partaken in almost all the electronic music movements: from the seminal house and techno-rave, across the progressive detour, until the manifold forms of new electronica. Adventures during the 90s' "Golden Age" include relevant radio experiences, like the involvement in Radio Centro Suono (official broadcast of the house and techno scene in Rome), and in Radio Italia Network (musical score of the Italian clubbing); but especially her nationwide exposure as a DJ with the residency at Tenax club in Florence and Musikò (Ex Movida) in Jesolo, as well as her regular presence all around the best clubs and events of that unforgettable decade. Simona Faraone is considered one of the most enlightened DJs in Italy with her high profile as a catcher and interpreter of quality noises around; an artist who's never agreed to compromises. At turntables or by her regular Pharaoh podcasts, she delivers highly-refined selections on a journey into the core of techno and house, drawing on old-school gems, jazz inspirations, and a wide range of sound suggestions which deeply touch her very good taste, magically combined with the excellence of contemporary music productions. She is further well-known for the strong effort and extraordinary determination in driving forward the values of the underground, showing a constant presence and support to the independent realities. Simona brought this spirit when decided to join Roots Underground Records as Executive Producer, in partnership with the label founder Marco Celeri, contributing to the launch of the vinyl catalogue. As a deep supporter of music experimentation and passionate about the Sun Ra's visionary, spiritual, otherworldly, cosmogonic and symbolic approach, Simona would like to infuse those concepts, filtered by a personal vision, into her new project of "Phonographic Editions From Tomorrow's World" started in 2016. New Interplanetary Melodies is an experimental, free, transversal, and contaminated imprint whose releases are going to explore different sound territories by the interpretation of brilliant unconventional producers and musicians, to create a parallel dimension in the world of modern independent sounds.
